Norway Geography

Norway is situated in Northern Europe, west of Sweden. It is washed by the North Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean. The northern third of the country lies above the Arctic Circle. The capital and the largest city is Oslo. Norwegian terrain consists of high plateaus and rugged mountains, which are sometimes changed by fertile valleys or small, scattered plains. The coastline is mainly made up of fjords, while in the northern part of the country there is arctic tundra. The climate along the coast is influenced by North Atlantic Current, on the north there are some glaciers, which continue to grow, on the west of the country the weather is rainy all the year round.
